Poor customer service and lack of communication
I’ve been using UKHost4You for my hosting for around 3-4 years now. I’ve always found them to have excellent help desk support whilst being very reasonably priced. The last month or so I’ve been having loads and loads of issues with all the sites on my resellar hosting being down on a regular basis and emails either not getting to where their supposed to be going or being returned as failed delivery. The helpdesk which usually responds to queries within 24 hours have either taken three days to respond to a query or closed the ticket without resolving the issue.
After numerous tickets trying to get to the bottom of the issues I was told I’d get a months free hosting which would be credited to my account (I still haven’t seen this). Yesterday evening when firing up my web site I get a message saying my site has moved to a new server and is now being run by someone called Othello. Needless to say I am absolutely raging about this, at no point in the last month has anyone informed me the issues have been due to this company taking over my hosting. I then find everything has moved without so much as an email informing me. I have several businesses on my resellar account that rely on their web site as their main source of business. Had I known in advance I could have made provisions and moved the hosting somewhere else. As it stands I’m getting a message saying some crap about having to clear the cache…that’s fine for me but retuning customers are going to take one look and go elsewhere.
Whoever organised the transition should be ashamed, what a complete disaster. Apologies to all my clients who have been having issues this last month, hopefully normal service will now resume.
