The Design Process: Building Your Site
Initial Consultation
If you are based in the Plymouth area I can arrange to meet and discuss your project in person or if preferable, I can arrange contact via e-mail or at a convenient time via telephone.
The initial consultation will help me clarify exactly what you require for your web site and I may be able to suggest ideas you hadn’t already considered.
Once I have this information I can provide specific details on project timelines and cost information.
Stage 1: Initial design testing
During Stage 1 I will design and test possible implementations for your site. This will involve testing colour schemes, page layouts, and content layout. I will provide you with a temporary web address which will allow you to view your web site online throughout the design process.
I will need as much information from you as possible at this stage. Any text, photographs or perhaps even a logo will help to shape the design/colour scheme of the site.

Stage 2: Production, further testing and editing
Once you are happy with the general layout, building the rest of the site can proceed.
This involves creating the site structure, including the photos and content where necessary and testing any multi media elements that may be required. Any graphics, logos or Flash animations are also designed at this stage.
You will be updated at regular intervals during stage 2 as it is imperative the project heads in the right direction.

Stage 3: Delivery and training
Upon approval of the final version I will upload your site to the correct domain.
Most web sites need regular updates once they are online. I can help with this in two ways. If you are confident enough to try it yourself I can train you to update your own site. If not, then I provide an ongoing content management service and can add updates as and when you require them. It is also possible to add a CMS (Content Management System) to your site, however this would need to be agreed at the start of the project. If a CMS were to be implemented to an exsisting web site then this would involve a complete redesign of that site.
